Maggie Hammond, MS

Resident in Counseling

  • I grew up in the mountains of Tennessee and moved to Virginia for school when I was a young adult. I fell in love with the Hampton Roads community and have now lived in the area for twenty years.

I spent most of the twenty years teaching in a PreK-8 school. Increasingly, I saw children struggling with mental health and I decided to go back to school to help children in a more specialized way- through counseling.

Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation and connection working with people of all ages. I find joy in helping people navigate transitional periods in their life to develop a happier and healthier state of being.

I am recently divorced and I live with my two girls and our rescue dog. My girls light up my life and keep me busy with drama, dance, swimming, and karate lessons. When I am not driving my kids to activities, I spend my time chasing adventure. I love to climb, camp, kayak, and hike. I am usually always fueled by coffee!
